The Hip Elections Poster

Voting has been around in this country since we got our independence but there has been a slump in voter turnout up until lately. Voting used to be what your parents and grandparents did. The right and need to vote in the younger generation has definitely been pushed much more since the Obama/McCain election in 2008. I believe that pop culture stars are pushing to get the younger generation involved in politics (some who have no clue about anything but its the cool thing to do) and this helps make my generation more politically responsible.

I wanted to make an election poster that was modern and targeted specifically to a more sophisticated crowd. All of the information bubbles are going to a vanishing point/end goal of getting elected. The lines are basically separating the information into parts/lines rather than bullet points. I am working on becoming more experimental with my typography and this seems to be a step in the right direction

With my job at University Housing Design its fantastic because I get a chance to try something totally new on every project. There is always something from my style that pops up in every project (usually the san-serif typeface and geometry) but I am still developing. It is crazy how far I have come since the beginning of the summer, its just splendid and I hope to keep improving (don't we all).
